Explanation

  1. This is the amount you have been paid before your taxes and your deductions have been taken out.

  2. This is a list of Federal and State taxes along with Social Security and Medicare tax. The Tax table provided by the IRS determines these amounts. How you fill out your w-4 will show how you fall on the tax table.

  3. This is the total amount taken from your pay for your voluntary deductions (add together all of #12 + #9 - #8 = #3).

  4. This is your final check total.

  5. This is the total amount of district-paid benefits (Life Insurance, TRS Contribution).

  6. This is the remainder of taxable wages after all pretax benefits.

  7. This is a breakdown of your contract pay and any additional pay you might receive. If you have an extra duty, that pay amount will be here as well.

  8. The Flex Benefit is what the district pays you for either having insurance or opting out of insurance if you work in a qualifying position.

  9. The TR Deduction is the dollar amount being deducted from your pay for your TRS retirement if you are contributing.

  10. The TR Fringe is what the district is contributing to your retirement for qualifying positions. Certified staff is $2,075 a year. 12-month support staff is $60 a month.

  11. This is the dollar amount that will be deposited into your bank account.

  12. These are your voluntary deductions. Example: Insurance, American Fidelity policies, Life Insurance policy, HSA and FSA account deductions.

  13. This is the amount the district pays for full time employee's $20,000 life insurance policy.
