Qualifications Needed

  • 18 and older are eligible to serve

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • Teaching certificate preferred but not required

Pay Information

The standard pay for substitute teachers is as follows:

Certified

Certified Substitute Teachers ..........$95.00 per day

*Certified substitutes will receive $115.00 per day for long-term assignments.
*Possession of an Oklahoma teaching certificate is needed to be considered a certified sub. 
 

Non-Certified

Non-certified Substitute Teacher...$85.00 per day

*Non-certified substitutes will receive $105.00 per day for long-term assignments.

1. Submit Online Application and Attend Training

Individuals interested in substituting apply online using our electronic application. You will need to create an account with a username and password when you first begin. Once you've created your account, you may return to update your application (including adding attachments), or to view it. You may exit the program at any time and return to complete it at your convenience. 

2. Interview and Selection Process with an OPS Human Resources Representative

3. Hired Applicants Complete Substitute Training 

All candidates must attend a training session before substituting. Once hired, training session information will be provided to you with a link to register (via email) for an upcoming session of your choosing.
