Transition
What is Transition?
Transition services are crucial in supporting students as they plan for post-school goals. Transition plans assist students in meeting their post-school goals, such as gainful employment, post-secondary education or training, and independent living. Transition plans are designed to meet individual needs as students progress through school.
What is the Owasso Area Transition Team?
The Owasso Area Transition Team is comprised of members from the Department of Rehabilitative Services, The Bridges Foundation, Tulsa Technology Center, Owasso Schools, Collinsville Schools, Skiatook Schools, and Sperry Schools. Our goal is to identify and implement ways to meet the transition needs of students and act as a resource for other Transition Teams who are striving towards the same goal.

Department of Rehabilitation Services
The purpose of Vocational Rehabilitation Services is to help eligible individuals with disabilities prepare for work and become gainfully employed. The services a person receives are determined by the person's Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). This plan outlines a person's employment goal and services that are needed to enable the person to achieve successful employment.
For more information visit the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services.

The Bridges Foundation
The Work Adjustment Training Program through The Bridges Foundation is primarily a community-based program. Students must be an approved client of the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Students will spend one day per week in the classroom and four days per week in the community. This program meets for one three hour block daily for elective credit; therefore, the student must have met their core credit requirements to be eligible to participate.
