Procedures and Resources

Overview

Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade have a scheduled storytime most weeks. Students in grades 2 - 5 are allowed to come to the library as often as needed to check out books.

Our library has over 11,000 copies of fiction, non-fiction, and picture books available for the children to check out. We also have a reference section that is not available for check-out, but students can use it in the library.

Library Hours

All Library Media Centers are open during school hours.

Check-Out Procedure

OPS Library Media Centers have an open check-out procedure, which means that libraries are open all day for students to check out books as often as they like. A book is due two weeks after check-out, and students are free to renew unfinished books.

Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Books

PK-7th grade: no charge for overdue books
8th-12th grade: 5 cents per day for the days school is in session

Lost or Damaged Books

Student accounts will be charged a replacement fee for lost or damaged books.

Our library resource page has quick links to all of the databases provided by our district as well as the state of Oklahoma. You will also be able to access our Destiny Library Catalog and the collection of e-books and audiobooks. Please see your Library Media Specialist for username and password information.

	Digital Prairie Oklahoma Digital Prairie provides visitors with unique digital content spanning more than 100 years of rich, vibrant history from Oklahoma. The resource areas found here include documents, photographs, newspapers, reports, pamphlets, posters, maps, and audio/visual content. Content ranges from the late 1800s to the present day. There are several collections. Some of the highlights are Tulsa Race Massacre Files, Images of OK, Oklahoma Authors, Oklahoma Almanacs, Oklahoma Online Archives, State Government Documents, and the Oklahoma Collection.
