*Please note: Possession of an Oklahoma teaching certificate is needed to be considered a certified sub.

Next Steps

1. Submit Online Application 

Individuals interested in substituting apply online using our electronic applicationYou will need to create an account with a username and password when you first begin.

Once you've created your account, you may return to update your application (including adding attachments), or to view it. You may exit the program at any time and return to complete it at your convenience.

2. Interview and Selection Process with an OPS Human Resources Representative

Qualified applicants will be contacted by an Owasso Public Schools Human Resources representative to participate in an interview.

This step allows the district to learn more about your experience, availability, and interest in substitute teaching, and provides an opportunity for you to ask questions about the role. Candidates selected to move forward will receive next steps for completing the hiring process.

3. Hired Applicants Complete Substitute Training 

All candidates must attend a training session before substituting. 

Once hired, training session information will be provided to you with a link to register (via email) for an upcoming session of your choosing.
