Pre-K Prep
Preparing your child for Pre-K is an exciting first step toward academic success! At Owasso Public Schools, our Pre-K Prep resources are designed to help families build key readiness skills — from growing independence and social confidence to early listening and classroom behaviors — so each young learner feels confident and ready for a smooth transition into Pre-K.
5 Things to Prepare Your Child for Pre-K
Independence Readiness
I can take care of myself - clothes, shoes, use the bathroom independently, health (washing and drying hands, wiping nose with a tissue, etc.)
Read
I can listen to a story without interrupting. (The goal is to be read to for 20 minutes daily)
Positivity
I can share my family's excitement about Pre-K and school.
Emotional Readiness
I can state my name and ask an adult for help.
Social Readiness
I can be respectful, take turns, and try again when I fail.
