2026-2027 Calendar Available Now
Owasso Parents & Guardians,
At last night’s Owasso Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the District’s 2026-2027 school calendar, which was constructed by a committee made up of parents, teachers, principals and district administrators. That calendar, along with the upcoming 2025-2026 calendar are available now on our website.
The district remains committed to always having two years of published calendars available to families and staff members, as this practice allows ample time for all to plan ahead as needed.
You will notice that the 2026-2027 school calendar looks slightly different in regards to how the District will handle days in which school is not in session due to inclement weather, following the recent passage of SB 758 by the Oklahoma legislature. SB 758 limits virtual instruction days and establishes very stringent criteria that must be met in order for a district to utilize virtual instruction.
As a result, the 2026-2027 calendar includes five built-in inclement weather days (these are marked with a dashed square outline). Any day that we are out of school due to inclement weather, that time will be made up using an inclement weather day. There will be no school on any unused inclement weather day.
This law does not impact the 2025-2026 calendar and we will continue to utilize distance learning on days with inclement weather for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
We will communicate additional reminders of this change in the future as we get closer to the 2026-2027 school year.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I hope that you and your family are enjoying a safe and relaxing summer!
Sincerely,
Dr. Margaret Coates
Superintendent
