Qualifications Needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 and older are eligible to serve
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Teaching certificate preferred but not required

Next Steps

1. Submit Online Application and Attend Training
Individuals interested in substituting must apply online using our electronic application. You will need to create an account with a username and password when you first begin. Once you've created your account, you may return to update your application (including adding attachments), or to view it. You may exit the program at any time and return to complete it at your convenience. 
2. Interview and Selection Process with an OPS Human Resources Representative
3. Hired Applicants Complete Substitute Training 
All candidates must attend a training session before substituting. Once hired, training session information will be provided.
